TIER1 SEGA Precision Armory Classic Collection

I was the Creative Director on a collaboration project between TIER1 Accessories, a videogame collectibles company and SEGA.

The TIER1 art team was tasked with developing a collectible “blindbox” series based on SEGA’s history.

We created the “Precision Armory Classic Collection”, a shipper of twelve randomized boxes containing 6 different die-cast consoles and accessories from SEGA’s legendary past. It debuted at E3 2018.

TASKS: CREATIVE DIRECTION, CONCEPT, CLIENT PITCH, 3D MODELING, SPEC SHEETS, PACKAGING DESIGN, TEAM MANAGEMENT

The die-cast Consoles

Each piece was painstakingly rebuilt in 3D with calipers, millimeter by millimeter, based off the real world hardware. These reference quality models were approved by SEGA Japan and have been cataloged and used as their own personal 3D models.

Each shipper came with 12 blindboxes. Each box contained 1 of 6 possible randomized die-cast consoles, a clear acrylic stand and matching collector’s card. The consoles were randomized with increasing rarity The shipper was designed with the back card folding over itself for easy shipping to stores.
